Can ElevenMusic Score Your Next Pitch?

This week, AI quietly stopped being optional in white-collar work. Here's what shifted, plus the $9.99/month tool that just made stock music libraries feel obsolete.

The Big Story

AI just went firmwide at a Magic Circle law firm. Pay attention.

On Wednesday, Slaughter and May announced it is rolling Harvey AI to every lawyer at the firm. Not a pilot. Not a "select team." All 4,500 staff, across every practice group, with Harvey embedded into M&A due diligence, regulatory research, contract review, and document analysis. Magic Circle competitor Freshfields is reportedly going the same route via a partnership with Anthropic. Meanwhile, the Pentagon signed deals with eight frontier AI companies this week (OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, AWS, Oracle, NVIDIA, SpaceX, and Reflection) and disclosed that 1.3 million Department personnel have already generated tens of millions of prompts on its internal GenAI.mil platform in just five months.

My take: 2024 was the "AI pilot" era. 2025 was "departmental rollout." This week was the moment AI quietly became infrastructure, the same way email did in the late 90s and Slack did in the late 2010s. If you work in a white-collar profession that hasn't gone firmwide yet, your employer almost certainly will within 12 months. The smart move is not to wait for the corporate training session. Build your personal AI fluency now, on your own time, with the workflows that matter to your role. The lawyers at Slaughter and May who already knew how to draft prompts had a six-month head start on the colleagues who will be learning Harvey from scratch on Monday.

Tool of the Week: ElevenMusic

ElevenMusic: AI music creation by ElevenLabs

What it does: Generate, remix, and license original music tracks from a text prompt, the same way ChatGPT generates copy.

Why it matters this week: ElevenLabs (the company behind the AI voice cloning everyone is using) launched ElevenMusic earlier this month and just hit a major milestone with 4,000+ partner artists going live on the platform. It is the first major AI music generator with a "licensing-first" model, meaning every track you create is cleared for commercial use out of the box. No more YouTube copyright strikes on your reels. No more $40 stock-music subscriptions for a single 30-second ad.

How to use it for a 60-second pitch reel or social ad:

  1. Go to elevenmusic.io and sign in with your ElevenLabs account (or create a free one)
  2. Click Studio and type a natural-language prompt describing the vibe: "Upbeat corporate cinematic, 60 seconds, builds to a confident finish, no vocals"
  3. Adjust length, mood, and (if you want lyrics) writing style, then click generate. You get a full track in about 30 seconds.
  4. Use the Remix button to nudge the tempo, swap genre, or extend the runway if the first cut is close but not quite right
  5. Download the WAV/MP3 and drop it straight into Canva, CapCut, or your slide deck

Pricing: Free tier gets you 7 generations per day (remixes count toward the limit). Pro is $9.99/month or $95.90/year for 500 monthly tracks, all styles, and 500+ GB of cloud storage. Both tiers include the licensing-first commercial rights.

Quick Picks

  • YouTube "Ask YouTube" search is in beta for Premium subscribers in the US through June 8. Type a natural-language question ("Plan a 3-day road trip from SF to Santa Barbara") and YouTube returns AI-summarized answers with timestamped clips from across the platform. Opt in at YouTube Labs. → Read more
  • GitHub Copilot is moving to per-token pricing on June 1, ending the era of flat-fee unlimited AI coding. Heavy users (anyone running agentic coding tasks) will pay more. Light users will likely pay less. The bigger signal: every productivity tool will follow this model within 18 months, so start watching your token budgets now. → Read more
  • Anthropic's "Mythos" agent found 2,000 software vulnerabilities in 7 weeks during a security research run. If your IT team is not yet evaluating AI security agents, expect that to change this quarter. → Read more

Pro Tip

The Two-Tool Rule for AI Creative Work

When you ship a piece of content that combines text, audio, and visuals (a pitch reel, a social ad, an explainer video, even an internal training clip), do NOT try to do it in one tool. Quality drops the moment you ask any single AI model to wear three hats. Instead, chain specialist tools: a language model for the script, an audio model for voice or music, a design tool for visuals.

Concretely: ask Claude or ChatGPT for a 30-second script in your tone of voice, generate the soundtrack in ElevenMusic with a matching mood prompt, and assemble the visuals in Canva or Gamma. Total time, start to finish, is 8 to 10 minutes for a polished 60-second reel. The same job hand-edited from one general-purpose AI takes 30 to 45 minutes and the output usually feels off because each layer was a compromise. Specialist beats generalist every time.
